Walk over.
We are here.

Wolka is a small app made by one person, so replies are written by hand. Email kiishidart@gmail.com and you will get a real answer.

Connecting your steps

Wolka needs permission to read your step count from the health data already on your phone. It asks at the moment you choose to connect, not at first launch.

iPhone

  1. Open Wolka, go to Race.
  2. Use Connect my phone steps.
  3. When iOS asks, choose Turn On All for Motion & Fitness. A partial permission leaves gaps in your day.
  4. Walk a little, then pull down to refresh. Your total should appear.

For optional iPhone background updates, open You, choose Enable background sync, and allow Health Steps read access. iOS decides when Wolka can run, so updates may be delayed. Your total still uses phone steps; Apple Watch totals are not included. You can turn background sync off here without disconnecting steps. With notifications allowed, a quiet Steps synced alert confirms a successful background upload. Focus and notification settings may delay or hide this alert; the dated background receipt in You remains available.

Android

  1. Open Wolka, go to Race.
  2. Use Connect my phone steps.
  3. Allow Health Connect to read your steps.
  4. Walk a little, then pull down to refresh.

iPhone: Motion & Fitness. Android: Health Connect. Updates sync while Wolka is open. iPhone also offers optional background sync in You.

My steps are not showing

Check these in order. They cover almost every case.

Older saved days stay in your history even after your phone discards its recent records, so a gap does not erase what you already recorded.

Understanding your rhythm

In local development; not yet released. When enabled, open You → see your rhythm, or use the private entry in Wolks. Choose one of the last eight completed weeks. See why opens dated records, exclusions and the calculation. A gap is missing evidence, never proof that you stopped walking.

Private facts work without AI. Data and explanation settings separates facts, external explanations and weekly alerts. Questions appear only when the server supports them and external-processing consent is active. Complete query coverage cannot prove every step was measured. Source changes can withhold comparisons.

Weekly alerts use your stored timezone, target Monday after 10:00, and keep quiet hours from 22:00 to 08:00. Missing zones use UTC. Alerts replace the ordinary daily reminder on updated devices. The inbox remains useful without OS permission; enabling permission later does not replay old summaries. Reading a report suppresses a pending digest. A past notification always fetches the current authorized report.

Disabling facts removes Rhythm-derived reports and feedback while keeping your daily history. Disabling explanations removes generated prose and cancels jobs. Questions clear on leaving the session or changing accounts. No hourly collection is part of this release. Read Rhythm privacy and retention.

Your sign-in and account emails

Open You in Wolka to check your linked Google or Apple sign-in. Use the same sign-in to get back into your account on a new phone. Opening your account on another device disconnects the previous device until it signs in again.

Account emails are optional. Open You → Email updates to enable them with the verified address from your linked sign-in, or remove the address to stop them. Apple private relay addresses are supported. Email links are guides; they do not sign you in.

In the same screen, News and updates is a separate optional subscription for Wolka announcements, guides and invitations. Turn it off there or use the unsubscribe link in a campaign email. Unsubscribing from news leaves account emails enabled. Removing the address stops both.

If you receive an account-change email you did not expect, secure your Google or Apple account and contact kiishidart@gmail.com for help. Do not send passwords, identity tokens or your Wolka device token.

Delete your account

Deleting removes your account, your name, your avatar, every crew membership, your step totals and history, your rank and rank history, and your earned badges. It is immediate and cannot be undone.

  1. Open the app and go to the You tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom, to Delete account.
  3. Read the confirmation and choose Delete account to confirm.

In matches you have already completed, your entry is kept as an anonymised record so past results stay readable to the people you raced against. It carries no name, no avatar and no step totals, and it is not linked back to you.

If you cannot open the app, email kiishidart@gmail.com and ask for the account to be deleted.

Wolka's privacy policy lists everything held about you.

Effective 6 October 2026.
